ABOUT FLIP
Flip trained as a guide dog instructor in Amsterdam before studying dog/wolf behaviour in Holland under Martyn Gaus (Lelystad), where he became Head Instructor at Gaus’s European-renowned Dog Training Institute.
He also assisted with the establishment of a Guide Dog School, advised veterinarians in behavioural aspects and handling, undertook filmwork for television advertising and participated in the production of a televised animal behavioural programme.
Since returning to New Zealand in 1984, Flip has continued to work as a full-time dog trainer and owner-educator.
He has set up a successful Pet Therapy programme and was also a founding member/trainer of the Top Dog Companion Trust, a Wellington-based charitable organisation which trains dogs for people with disabilities.
He now runs a busy training centre in Auckland.
Flip has over 30 years experience as a full-time professional dog trainer and owner instructor.
Aside from the innumerable individual dog owners, his expertise is enlisted by numerous organisations, such as the Kennel Club, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), City Councils, schools, veterinarians and more.
